Can I export my data from Ellie?

Yes, you can export the entities, attributes and entity relationships of your business glossary as spreadsheets. You can also add models into reports and print them as PDF-files. It is also possible to export the entities, attributes and relations used in a specific report, as CSV-files.there are several ways to do this:

  • You can export your entire Glossary via our Glossary export functionality. This will give you an .xlsx file with all the conceptual entities and their attributes defined in your Glossary, with all their metadata.

  • You can export the contents of a single model (either Conceptual or Logical) as CSV files. For Logical models, you’ll find the Export button from the model canvas. For Conceptual models, you can use the Reports functionality: create a Report containing the Conceptual models you’re interested in, and export the contents from the Report view. This is where you can also print the Report (and its models) e.g. as a PDF.

  • You can export the contents of a single model (either Conceptual or Logical) via our Model Export API. Detailed instructions can be found here: How to Export Model Content in JSON format using the Model Export API

Currently, importing model diagrams directly is not possible.

Where is my data stored when I use Ellie?

Ellie is a SaaS application, so all data you enter into Ellie is stored in Ellie’s own servers. These are physically located in AWS Frankfurt. See our Privacy Policy for details.

I would like to see feature X in Ellie, could you add it?
